Rychlý přehled
The Slingfin Portal 1 completes the popular Portal family. It's Slingfin's lightest freestanding tent with a minimum weight of only 1.13kg. The Portal 1 design offers all the aspects the original 2-person Portal is loved for, while optimizing the geometry and features relevant for solo hikers. All the details that make the Portal series the most livable backpacking tents on the market, such as a plethora of pockets, were kept.
To avoid the coffin-like feeling of many 1-person tents, the Portal 1's cross pole is extended so the side walls of the tent are beyond vertical, providing tons of volume and headroom up high. The extra long cross pole creates a super roomy vestibule with plenty of overhang when the vestibule doors are rolled back.
Slingfin uses a 10D Nylon 66 Ripstop outer tent with silicone coating that is basically magic, with better UV resistance than fabrics three times heavier, super-low water absorption (so fast drying times) and incredible resistance to mould and mildew. The silicone coating does not break down when your tent is stored in your closet and does not cause that "old tent smell" that develops over time in tents you love. The 20D PE-coated tent floor fabric strikes a good balance between light weight and durability and does not absorb water, unlike PU-coated tent floor fabrics. It also has much more hydrolytic stability than PU coatings and does not flake and stink over time. Pre-installed spare liners on all zips double the life of your zips and eliminate the need for half-baked repairs in the field.
To extend the life of the floor of your Portal, we recommend buying a Slingfin Portal 1 Footprint. An added benefit of using the footprint is that it reduces condensation inside the tent at night.
